HISTORY

Westminster Academy was founded in 1953 to provide a Bible-centered education that would honor God and teach the realities of God and man. This pursuit of truth and the leading of the young person to an understanding of God's creation provides an alternative for families who take responsibility for their child's education.

From a small beginning nearly 55 years ago, the school has grown and improved and today offers young people an opportunity to master the skills they need to succeed in college and in society.

The philosophy of Westminster Academy has always been to challenge the mind and to gain an understanding of our God and Savior. All wisdom is from God, and we are called to nurture and train our young people so that they may obtain wisdom.

The realization of this goal starts the first day of Kindergarten and lasts a lifetime. In every aspect of the school, we emphasize the building of the skills that our young people will need to acquire wisdom. Each year Westminster students excel academically far beyond the national average. Westminster students' SAT scores are comparable to those of high school graduates by the time they reach eighth grade.
